Revs defeat unbeatable
FOXBORO, MA. Ė The New England Revolution hadnít won two games in a row all season and the Columbus Crew hadnít lost since June. Yet after winning the last game of the season against Chicago the Revs managed to win two games in a row for the first time in a year defeating the Columbus Crew 1 to 0 in game one of the two game total goal conference semifinal series. With most of the New England area focused on the Red Sox, only a small crowd of just under 6,000 fans bore witness to the most impressive performance of the Revs all season.

Revs play-off bound for third straight year
FOXBORO, MA. Ė For the third year in a row the New England Revolution have made it to the postseason. The previous two seasons the Revs came roaring into the play-offs riding a 7 game undefeated streak in 2003 and securing second place and a 6 game undefeated streak in 2002 that saw them secure first. This year, however, the Revs came into the last game of the season needing a win to secure the fourth and final play-off spot in the East. With their backs against the wall, the Revs pulled off a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire, who didnít qualify for the playoffs for the first time in team history thanks to the Revs. Their task doesnít get any easier as the Revs face the Columbus Crew, unbeaten in 18 games.

Galvan Rey Gives Metros Tie
The MetroStars were unable to clinch a second place spot on Saturday. They were able to hold onto second place for now, with the tie putting them one point ahead of D.C. United. The Metros tied the Columbus Crew on a Sergio Galvan Rey penalty kick after Jeff Cunningham had scored the Crew's only goal. Next week's game at D.C. will decide who gets 2nd place, the MetroStars have the advantage going in, not only will a win get them second, but so will a tie. If the MetroStars get a win or tie next week they will hold onto second place entering the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Revs lose to D.C., playoff hopes to be decided in final game of season
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The New England Revolution (7-13-9) have been unable to win two games in a row all season and that didnít change on Saturday, October 9th, as the Revs fell 1-0 to D.C. United. Thanks to a Chicago loss on Wednesday, however, the Revs are one win back from Chicago for the fourth and final playoff spot with their last game of the season at home on October 16th against the Fire. With a Revs win, they would win the tie-breaker and be headed to their third straight postseason.
