Wizards pull off tricks to beat The Galaxy
The Wizards defended with numbers, their back four stifling the Galaxy's attempts to find the target tandem of Moreno and Kirovski. Their willingness to sit back and settle with the counterattack opportunity gave L.A. plenty of time to exploit their passing ability in the midfield third. The half ended with a series of dangerous corners for the Galaxy, with Meola making a neat save at the near post on Herzog’s fifth shot of the half.

The 0-0 score was broken in the 59 minute when Alejandro Moreno(LA) found the back of the net. The play developed from a deep Sasha Victorine(LA) cross which was headed back across goal from Ricky Lewis(LA) and was redirected by Moreno for the goal. Three minutes after Moreno's goal the Wizards had a chance to tie the game but the shot from Chris Klein(KC) went right over the roof of the net. In the 65th minute Francisco Gomez(KC) found himself in the box and he firmly struck the ball right pass goal keeper Kevin Hartman(LA) for his first goal of the season and for the equalizing goal for KC.

Then again in the 86 minute the Wizards where able to capatalize against the Galaxy with a Diego Gutierrez(KC) goal putting the Wizards ahead of the Galaxy by one goal with less than four minutes in regulation time. The Wizards pulled off the win and earned the three points to put them in second place in the Western Conference and now just 4 points behind the Galaxy. The Wizards go head to head with the Rapids on June 9th as the Galaxy go against the Chicago Fire on June 12th.
