The Galaxy put the Fires flame out
The Galaxy finally converted their early advantage in possession into an advantage on the scoreboard in the 10th minute. Ngwenya carried the ball into the box, and upon seeing three defenders around of him, laid the ball off the Herzog, who fired a low but fast shot into the far corner of the net, and give the Galaxy the eary lead. Ante Razov(Chi) came close to scoring the equalizing goal in the 15th minute but just didn't make it. Eleven minutes after Herzog scored for LA Razov came out with a equalizing goal for Chicago and now tied the game at 1-1.

In the second half the Galaxy were made to pay in the 67th minute for an ill-timed tackle in the box as Justin Mapp(Chi) earned a penalty kick after being pushed down by Albright. Razov stepped up to convert the penalty and give the Fire the lead. Now the Galaxy were behind one goal. Just three minutes later Razov almost added another goal for Chicago but once again he missed the chance. Cobi Jones(LA) and Chris Albright(LA) created chances from the right, and in the 81st minute, Ngwenya nodded an Albright cross into the upper corner to tie the match. The game now tied went into stoppage time and Chris Albright(LA) Positioned alone in the center of the box, easily headed a Victorine cross from the right inside the net and scored the winning goal for The Galaxy.
