Metros get burned 3-0 to Fire

After starting off the season with a 2-0-0 start, and reaching a tie before facing Chicago, the Metros fell letting up 3 goals against a team which struggled to score their first 4 games. Chicago's win puts them at first of the east after week 5 of MLS. The MetroStars will try to regain strength as they take on San Jose next weekend. |

East Rutherford, NJ. - The winless New England Revolution (0-2-1) were missing several key players to injury, but a goal by rookie Clint Dempsey gave them their first point in the standings with a 1-1 tie against the first place Metrostars. Despite missing defenders Carlos Llamosa and Rusty Pierce as well as playmaker Jose Cancela, the Revs managed to get a very good result on the road. |

Three new off season pickups got there chance in the MetroStars offense today, but none of them could come up with a goal. Even the fan favorite, John Wolyniec couldn't work any magic, as the Metros rely on a midfielder to score their one and only for a 1-1 tie. |
