Revolution comeback to tie ‘Quakes in season opener

San Jose, CA. – The New England Revolution came back from a two goal deficit to tie the San Jose Earthquakes in their season opener Saturday night. The Revs fell behind by two goals just 21 minutes into the first half, but managed to take control of the match in the second half and tie the game on goals by Pat Noonan and Taylor Twellman. |

The MetroStars opened their season at home as they took on expansion team Real Salt Lake. In a game full of weather the MetroStars were unable to break through and the game ended in a scoreless draw. Both teams fought hard to score a goal, but the wind and rain took control of the game making it almost impossible to place the ball perfectly. An exciting match ended with a shutout for both young keepers on Saturday night. |
