MLS: Latest News
fair play or foul play
|
From what I know about people and what I know about sports, a simple game of football can never be assumed to be played fair when there are such high stakes involved. This is especially true when it comes to the world stage and World Cup. This past Saturday many witnessed two games of this spectacular event which epitomises the reason why they instigated “fairplay”. Here are the facts as I saw them on the 25th of June:
At the beginning of the day while doing errands I saw a familiar face named David in town wearing a Ronaldo #17 jersey. He’s often seen about town wearing his football jerseys, namely Italian Parma. It struck me as odd that David was wearing Christian’s Portugal side but no sooner had I caught glimpse of him, he disappeared. I then saw a policeman coming from the opposite direction. Was he avoiding the police? These details with the following facts make me wonder. David Beckham’s birthday is 2/5. Christian Ronaldo’s birthday is 5/2. David Beckham wore #7 for Man Utd. Christian Ronaldo wears #7 for Man Utd. Hmmm? Me thinks something’s fishy! And after seeing the results and interactions of the games that day I wonder even more. Beckham scored against goalkeeper Christian Mora on a free kick to beat Equador, while Christian was targeted and injured in Portugal’s 1-0 game against Holland. That kind of targeting of players etc…is totally uncalled for. Especially if it was pre-planned! This type of interaction is worrisome after the recent alegations brought upon the Italian Seria A. Match fixing is one matter but deliberate deception etc...is another. Yes town interaction is different from the real thing on the field, but if the deception starts in society who can blame the players on the field?
Maybe they were arguing and trying to find out who came first the chicken or the egg? Maybe they were trying to figure out who really had a “natural” left foot? I heard a rumour it was just over a McDonald’s “royale with cheese”… But why spoil a man’s moonlight, so let’s keep it “real” boys! But for those names and numbers to add up like that, something must have been going on behind the scenes. And why I believe foul play was involved in the interaction that day! Conspiracy theory or not Beckham does play the holding role in midfield for England! That aside, the game between England and Portugal on no other than June 1st or 7/1 sets up an unusual number cruncher for you “bean” counters! Be sure to bring your “beanbags” to the game as its building up to be a scorcher!
After Game Comments: With England's coach Errikson pregame speach exclaiming there will be no foul play, thats exactly what the fans got. But who was wearing the #17 jersey for Portugal? Was it Cristiano or was it David? Rooney sent off for deliberate kick in balls...Either way, Beckenbauer spoke up and claims Ronaldo was playing unfairly and thus didn't deserve the Young Player of the Tournament award. But did they see the newspaper reports that week in the UK discussing the legality of the "bollocks to Blair" t-shirts or the eronious COJONES text conversations sent between Rooney and Ronaldo...for those of you not in the know COJONES is not a reference to Coby Jones but the word "nuts" in Spanish...So in a year when so much corruption is surfacing in Italy they seem to be the favorites to win...but what kind of message does this send to the kids? |
